Before the fall of the Berlin Wall and collapse of the Soviet empire, Russia was not a hot country, philatelically speaking. Over the last 10 years, more and more collectors are discovering or rediscovering Russia and related areas.

A more recent Scott Catalogue confirms this again and I quote: “The stamps of Russia exhibit a number of changes, mostly upward in the range of 10-15 percent.”  Not bad for one year under current circumstances.

I also expect our Yugoslavia lots to do well over the next couple of years. These are older issue, even including some WWII overprints.
